What knot to join braid to braid for mainline
Submitted by Nibbles on Wed, 2014-05-28 08:40
Im joining 2 half used spools of braid to make a whole. What knot is best for this that would maintain maximum line strenghth? Also it wont be used for casting so doesnt have to be a slim knot.

Joining
Yep tying Bimini twists in either end of the braids and cats pawing it will suffice. The other option is double uni if the two diameters are similiar.

But with the double Uni
At least double or better quadruple the turns. Braid is slippery.
Double Bimini and cat's-paw by far the best, but obviously takes time compared to the double Uni.
