Where to get the seat storage box here in Perth?

I am revamping a boat that has pedestral seats in it at the moment.

They take up a lot of storage room that can be utelised.

I am having great trouble to find any of these Fibreglass? boxes ready made here in Perth.

Anybody got any idea who might have these?

If I cannot find the right ones then I will have to make these myself.

Thanks for the link Rob, but

Thanks for the link Rob, but these are way to low.

Need 75cm minimum in box height to mount seat.

Andrew Welch, I would like to take you up on your offer, please!

Will call.

This is what I might make if the pedestalbox is not suitable.

Bought 2 sheets of 10mm plastic 1200x2400 to do the panel replacement in white to "modernise" the old girl to something like this.

Still looking in Perth...

Mon, 2012-01-23 23:05

Did anyone find any available in Perth?

Commodore Marine are no more it seems, BLA don't list them on their website and the ones from over east are a little exxy, a lot of that is freight though.

I have seen some rippers this weekend in a 2002/3 Southwind but I am finding them as a source also difficult.

Same as these on this pic: www.boatpoint.com.au/Tig/UI/PagePopup.aspx

Any ideas anyine?

Cheers

 My seat arrangement is still

Tue, 2012-01-24 06:15

My seat arrangement is still as above and will be altered when a new engine goes in it in the off season.

Have not had a further look, but I might be making them myself as it seems not possible to buy these

I am, luckily, more than capable to do that myself in either SS or powdercoated aluminium.

The new V6 engine will give me more deckspace than the current straight six and I can cut back the eninecover a fair bit which in turn will give me ample space to make the pedestal seat/box and have comfortable space to move about.

Two esky/seat boxes plus freight to Perth close to $3000, just a touch too big for my budget....

Have also looked at boatseatboxes.com/, cost better but still at $2500 for two.

Am wondering what cost in Ali, but I imagine it would be difficult to do the esky/cooler thing in Ali?

I got some of these

Tue, 2012-01-24 23:04

I got some of these http://www.jpwmarine.com.au/products/seating/seat-pedestals-swivels/seat-bases-fibreglass.aspx which have done the trick, but would have preferred some with some extra storage at the base.

I see what you mean, storage wise.

I am looking for the extra length for esky/seats that can be used when fishing.

Really? Looks like a nice easy glass job for someone local. Little bit of carpentry to make the mould, after that you could knock out a few sets ;)

The suggestion is that, if you have the skills, and there is a demand, you may as well make a mould and sell a couple sets ;)

It nis the same old story, If you have the tools and the skill it can be done.

Any sheet metal worker can fold some aloy sheet up  in a square cone shape and with an extra lip it can be Popriveted into a box.

With a flat sheet with on all sides a 90 degree lip, a floor made into it and an opening cut into it for extra storage and strenght.

Once you put it together get it powdercoated and bolt it onto your floor with a seat on top!

No need to spend $3000!

Great job done by Mick, give the boys at Cobalt Blue a call if you are looking for one of these...

eBay or online

Wed, 2015-08-19 16:10

I saw these on ebay when I was looking for my gas lift bases. I think they're close to what you're looking for at a fraction of the price.

 most glass places could do

Mon, 2017-08-14 16:50

most glass places could do it but you can buy the kits from bunnings and do it yourself. cant remember the name of the stuff but you can get this stuff thats like a woven mesh sheeting nothing like the old glass . works better when done right.
