White Point

Im heading to White Point next week for a night or 2. Never been there and don't know anyone that has.
A couple of questions I have are-
1. What are the tracks and beach like? Is it a hard 4x4 track or a nice easy 4x4? I don't mind either way but would be nice to know.
2. What is the beach like for fishing there? Are there lumps of reef there or all beach? Im guessing we will catch the same as most beaches like Salmon, Tailor, Herring, hopefully a shark.. Anything I should know about the fishing there? Gear to take..
Thanks in advance :)

While
Been a while since I've been down there so cannot comment on the track. Not sure again if you can drive along the beach because the beach entrance track was not wide enough for a car to fit through if I remember correctly. If you can access the beach there are heaps of holes and gutters back around towards Augusta, its just a matter of finding one that suits you.
There is a reef out front with deep gutters inside that hold salmon, tailor, mulloway sharks, herring and silver bream.
Most of the fish are caught close to the beach so don't waste the energy on huge casts except if you are fishing with a gap in the reef straight out in front that allows the wash to run back out to sea.

Cheers
Thanks for that Carnarvonite.
Fingers crossed for a great weekend. Am yet to catch a shark from shore, so am hoping for one over the Easter-Anzac week.

Last time
Last time i went there we had a local take us in. had to go thu a property that was fenced ( sometimes locked ) I would say the track was medium to rough and very overgrown. ( scratch's all down the 4x4 ) There was a rough camp still there but full of ticks and snakes . We ended up going someware else ( Jasper ) because the swell was too big to fish of the rocks/reef.
Not trying to put you off going there, but i would have a back up location just incase. Would be good to see a report and pictures of the area if you do end up fishing there.
Cheers Grant ..
