Managed to sneak out yesterday morning with the the father inlaw behind FFB in around 30m and bag a nice few feeds of whiting and gather some quaility bait for when the ban lifts.
Thanks god for the scaler bags!!!

Some nice fat ones there! Up there with, if not the, best eating fish and really quick to fillet once you get on a roll.
+1 for the scaling bag but a garden hose gun takes all the scales off too.

Nice Haul
That is a nice haul, we are just starting out with boating. Have fished shore based for the last twenty years and reasonably successful when we go out. However from a boat I feel like I am starting all over again. Need to find a consistent spot like that myself, we went out yesterday with a couple of six year olds and managed to get one in. Gathered about fifty blowies though! However, as it was my son that brought it in I was in the good books last night and he can’t wait to go out and do it again

Flats near Garden Island
G’day Swompa, we were near the flats on the inside of Cockburn Sound near Garden Island about 2m water. Fishing all the sandy pockets like you would from shore. We had planned to go the west side but our friends daughter found it a bit rough. She was pretty happy on the inside so we stayed. She had fun naming all the blowies and buttter fish we caught. Son was pretty impressed seeing the battle ships.

If you head out west of
If you head out west of Carnac Island in around 20 m of water.
Keep the Cockburn Cement tower on the sandy beach and you won't miss with whiting.

Thank You
Thanks for the tip Billy, we will try it next weekend. I have a five year old son that wants to come out on the next trip too. That will be perfect to keep them entertained and interested in going out fishing more often.
