 Says " landbased fishing forum".

Chasing them with bait or lures, King Spinner? Although your username may be a clue as well!

Ive heard that in the past

Thu, 2015-12-31 08:32

Ive heard that in the past left bank in freo holds good whiting on the sand flats, or anywhere round that area with flats. Havent tried them on surface yet it should work early mornin, but i used to get some rippers on worms at night (while the blowies are less active) or if you can scoop a few live prawns even better. In the ocean if your chasing good whiting ive done well off the north mole in years gone by, not this season tho not sure why. City beach holds yellowfin in the deep gutters too but its been a while since ive been there so  not sure how it would go now. When i chase the larger whiting i just use a longshank hook with 30cm of 8lb fluro to a small swivel with a small running sinker above, or the old two hook patenoster rig.

There was a heaps of small ones around 20cm there abouts but didn't want a bar of it... Heap of mullet splashing about as well ! Could you post a photo of google maps and pin point the spot in Yunderup ? I would show you where i went but dont know how to post photos on here yet...

North side of river

Sun, 2016-11-20 14:56

Tones of yellow fin whiting in freo from the bridges to red herring (on the north side of the river). Sinking stickbaits do the trick! Can't go past the Daiwa Gekkabijin Kojirou. Trouble is finding a time to fish when the winds down.

Couple of 30cm+ ones around.
