Who plans their trips around tidal coefficientency

My last 3 local trips I've seen no bait birds and its been like a dead zone with a T E of about 35-40.next monday it is nearly 100 which you would think according to tides4 fishing would be the best time????

My last couple outing I notice that the bonito were most active with moon above even though this was a few hours after sunrise

Would love to plan my fishing
Would love to plan my fishing trips around moon phase, tide and all the rest but in reality mine get planned around time off work with maybe a bit of wind factor plugged in.
(wind factor doesn't seem to play much of a factor either)

In the river
In the river it makes a huge difference, I go a few times a week and have been comparing the T E on good days vs poor days.
Only thing in the river is you have to allow the time difference in tidal changes the further up river you go.
ie; if im right up west swan I add up to 3 hours to the peak times, around the causeway I add 1 hour aprox.
If sunrise/set and moon rise/set all coincide with a good TE and a good tide you are really improving the chances of getting into a good session.

Not tides but moon phase. First trip to Abrolhos we had a full moon on our second day and the fish really shut down for the rest of the trip compared to our first day. I spoke to Craig the skipper he blamed it on full moon, said pretty much happens every full moon. Told me next season to book the trip for the lead up to the full moon, so i did, huge difference, consistent every day if not improving every day leading up to the full moon. Followed same theory fishing in Perth definitely noticed difference week before full moon vs week after.

I generally just fish when I can, biggest factor is work, and 2nd biggest factor is wind. I've never payed much attention to moon phases, tides etc, coz if I get the chance to head out and the weather is great, then I don't want that hype dampened because the moon is on its rags or the tide is being lazy. Like they say ignorance is bliss. And if I do head out and the fishing sucked then I just blame the decky, they are a dime a dozen! Haha

The only thing I have noticed, is that pelagics don't like the full moon, seems to slow down rapidly a few days before and then just shut down for a while after. But that won't stop me trolling for them unsuccessfully haha.

I'm just basing my comments
I'm just basing my comments on my findings during trips up north where the pelagics are generally more prolific. Generally always head up there over the Easter break, which is obviously based around the full moon. And it seems every trip the pelagic fishing has been good leading up to it, bust ups everywhere and fish happy to grab trolled lures, but then it drops off suddenly and then seems to be shut down for the next few days and then very slowly they come back on. This could be complete coincidence, and I'm sure other people have different findings, but thats just what I've noticed from my few trips up north at Easter time.

Only used to get out when I had free time but all of my successfull trips have been planned when everything like moon, tide, sunrise, sunset and peak fishing times line up for my target species.
Have found this especially true for snapper.

I don't worry much about moon phases but I always try for a rising tide.

I normally go fishing when my boat is in the water, or when I am at a beach with my fishing gear with no regard for tide, moon or so on, just when the weather is nice. It may be why I am largely unsuccessful with trophy fish though the day on the water is more of a target.
In saying that though, the last three charters I have done have coincided with full moons (entirely coincidental) and out of the three charters I have done, six fish have been landed on the boat.
Best fishing I have ever had was in the week leading up to a full moon.

Tides up here in Darwin can run up to 8m, plan your trip or you may be high and dry up a creek till the next tide.
shame best fishing is on a falling tide....

Bread and Butter
From the shore, I use the feed times with more success than ever. I find that if the co-efficient rating is higher, theres a bit more activity. But the times are triggered but solunar activity, much more reliable than simply how great the tidal movement is IMO.
As far as boat fishing, I'm not experienced enough to say what conditions make a better bite, generally my friends and I have only ever used time of day (and windiness) to govern our missions.
Do tides influence species like Snapper and Dhufish very much ? Keen to learn more !

Always use tides 4 fishing
Always use tides 4 fishing and go on high activity days. Usually fish from early morning until about an hour after the high activity period. It normally coincides with a tide change, didnt really put much stock to it in years gone by but over the last 5 or so years have been paying attention to it and i gotta say it works.

To a high was best.keen to track theTE as well and if you can get a good solunar (TE)at that time then that would be the ducks guts
