Me. I'll prob be on the back of the five, have to use up this burley thats built up over that last few fishing outings this week before i fly back to work on sunday. Drifted ffb today lost a few o ly got one pinkie in 50cm chucked it back, tomorrow gonna anchor and get big burley trail going
I was out there yesterday as well - think I saw your boat just inside of mine at one stage. Charter boat was lurking over my dhuie spots yesterday. Bit rough yesterday though - I only got 1/2 dozen small pinkies and some fat juicy whiting. Plenty on the fish finder but I think my hooks were too big for the baby pinkies.
Was going to head out but vhf dicky at best and was intending a solo so safety first ....get new GPS enabled radio installed and operational instead.....perhaps head out in the afternoon if fitting goes well
Done the bloody clutch in my Patrol and now I don't have a tow vehicle.. Faaaark. I hope they can get it fixed before next weekend at least.. I'll sit in my boat in the driveway and drink beer while I make some rigs up...
Yeah Grey Ghost the charter was just out from me about 200m. I checked their fb page when i got home and they cleaned up on pinks there so went back today and anchored and burleyed where they were but couldn't get past the skippy, great fun on the bream gear and 8g micro jigs. I was in blue side console
Got out at 3pm and fished the 30. Hard to get jig/plastic/bait past the sambos. Some of the sounder shots look like absolute mahem down there. Every spot with fish showin had sambos. They came off the bite just before sunset and caught 4 dhues but all just undersize. Totally shutdown by 630. First time in 2 months havent brought home a feed of snapper out of ocean reef
Went looking for new ground only to head back into the low 30's to my kg area. there were others nearish so we stopped short at another spot and dropped straight onto a low 70's Dhu then was on with the sambos and small pinkies.
Launched at 930 back at 230 , 1 Dhu and a skippy...but my arms are sore today haha good fun.
Had the whales circling and buzzing us for a good hour or 2 easily within touching distance with the rod tip.

Not Me, Unfortunately
Bit of a flu this week so a lot of catching up tomorrow, and over the weekend. Given who is going though, I look forward to the photos and stories.

Flew back in tonight, might look at a bit of land based around the place somewhere. Or I might just sleep in.

Yep was similar for us earlier in the day
same depths but out from hillarys.
Went looking for new ground only to head back into the low 30's to my kg area. there were others nearish so we stopped short at another spot and dropped straight onto a low 70's Dhu then was on with the sambos and small pinkies.
