Wickham/ Samson advice

g'day guys. Working in Wickham at the moment and was just seeking some info about minimum tides for launching at Wickham back beach and point Samson. Only got out once in the last two weeks with no dramas during the neaps. We did run across a manta and pulled a nice cobia off it, but with the forecast looking better later this week would really like to do some exploring. Any info on these or any of the Karratha/ Dampier ramps would be much appreciated. Will happily pay in beer currency for the info. Cheers Paul

What size boat you in Paul? Can launch Cossack all tides, same with Samson.  Wickham b.beach not too sure on.

In a 5 metre ally mate. Went

In a 5 metre ally mate. Went to get out of Samson the other day but it was breaking across across the channel. Might just have to wing it and wait it out if it's too low

 I wouldn't recommend Samson

I wouldn't recommend Samson in spring low tides..  The end of the ramp is heavily washed out that can cause trailer damage and the rocks in the channel are ugly ( that's the marina side)

The open water side is easier if you can manage without a jetty

Boat beach

Boat beach ramp has a flat spot.  Mid tide and you might have to get your car wet.  Low tide is not much better.  You can always launch/retrieve off the beach.  Samson is the go.  Just need to take it easy.
