Wind just gusted at 84 Ks here in Cox Bay, lucky boat is well lashed down and trailer is well chocked to prevent any movement ,any other reports of wind gusts down Mandurah way.

11 metre waves
Now being out in that in any size boat, ship would be exciting and certainly keep you interested in what's happening around you.

After last nights blow
Does anyone know how the boats anchored up at Rockingham got on, usually after a blow with a bit of north in it a couple of yachts get blown on shore.

You are kidding
What on the hell would make you go to sea in conditions like that. It could only be a matter of saving life.

Idiot out in a boat
Water police were notified of an unmanned boat near Dawesville with an engine running so they were called to search for the skipper. The search was later abandoned when the skipper had swum to shore and notified authorities.

Search and Rescue
Search called off with man found, taken to hospital
A search operation launched south of Perth earlier this afternoon has been called off after a man believed to have been missing was found.
The man, who had been aboard a boat off the Dawesville coast, is understood to have swum to shore.
The boat had been found earlier with nobody on board and its engine still running.
Police said the man has been taken to hospital as a precaution.

Irwin River at Dongara
For info, the Irwin River at Dongara broke through to the sea this afternoon. I guess it will be dirty water inshore fishing for the next 7 days but this also dependent on the weather.

Surely you have to draw a line in the sand somewhere even if they were going out to save a life but at what cost? Three more??

That footage to me showed a skipper that didn't know how to read the sea!!
Why the fuck would you come off the first one ( smallish ) and see a much larger wave about to break ( most energy ) and maintain the same speed...
Surely anyone with half an idea of how swell patterns work would have throttled right back and waited for wave no.2 to lose its energy in the deeper section after it broke before punching into it...
Then too Launch like that off wave number 3 is a stupid manouvre....
If need be he could've turned back to the beach between no.2 and no.3 and then back into no.3 once it had broken and lost its energy instead of launching 15 ft into the air...
Does anyone know why the bloke left motor running and swam to shore?
Keep bilges going or??
