Actually the science is there but (and it is a huge but) you can't compare a compare a third world country with little to no fisheries management to a first world country with one of the best fisheries management programs in the world and claim the benefits will be anywhere near the same (this is the first point where the conservationists loose all credibility).

look at some of the protected zones in the great barrier reef marine park - why are plenty of these fairing worse then areas where fishing is allowed - do you think other factors that creating a sanctuary zone does not stop be at play???

 

PS would actually like to see then produce a map where they overlap the commonwealth zones and state zones to show the reality of how much area is marine park (particularly in SA) rather than producing one or the other.........
