Would a manual cray pot winch work?

Something like this?

Not sure if it would be any easier or too slow? Any ideas?

Thanks

Pulling craypots

IMO it would be just as easy pulling the rope by hand over the guwhale with a PVC covering.

Got one here, it's two speed & I figure it would work fine for the heavier pots in deeper water. Are you teaming it with a pot tipper? Shallower water I agree with Old Banga, it's easier by hand

Having spent 40 years on yachts, I can say if you have a second pair of hands, yes.  One to wind, one to tail.  you just need to make sure the angle of the rope is not too high, otherwise you will get over winds.  I am planning on putting one on the starboard deck of my boat with a pot tipper on the port side.  The winch may need a base underneath it to make sure the leading angle is correct.  and enough clearance for the handle!

If your rope is really hard,

If your rope is really hard, you may need to roughened up the surface with a file to get a better bite on the rope.
