Xmas in July...in Dampier
G'Day all, thought I'd share some of my July conquests. Been blessed with some kick-ass weather lately and have done ok with the fish.
Went out with our dive gear early in the month and me and my mate made a decision to find new ground, and not give in and go to any spots we'd normally go. Well that proved productive, found a good area with small bombies everywhere, unusually, I shot all the fish and Dan got all the crays....teamwork!!
We got a great feed! PS: Terrible shot on the bigger Bluebone, forgot to take off the safety, spooked him and ended up being a wild shot!!!
Last weekend, went for a Shark bash and once the lines were set, we got stuck into some serious Chinaman's!!! We got 5, smallest was 84cm, biggest was 92cm. They sure pulled some string in 7-8m of water!!! All of them released well.
Yesterday, a work mate and I hit up Bare Rock in the arvo armed with plastics and small metal jigs to see what it would produce, 2 nice Cobia in about 15mins found their way into my mate's freezer!
Looks like more good weather on the way too! Got got a weekend of nightshift to get through first.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

8 per boat
Batman, I'd advise against starting to point fingers about bag limits...especially me and many others on this site are AVID catch and releasers, and I'm well entitled to have a field day once in a while and take my bag limit.
