Yesterday's Seabird report (edit,link added)
Headed out yesterday on water that was a bit of a mish mash but as the day wore on it got better and better. First time my oldest (Rory) deckied for me solo and he did a good job. We fished the mid 20's for a while where he picked up a size Breaksea and unsize Baldie. We then headed into the the mid 30's for a couple of hours for nil and was starting to get a bit frustrated. So decided to head out near the bank on the way we found a cluster of cray pots which was unusual as they are usually strung out in a line, so decided to have a crack. Our lines had barely hit the bottom when it was on for young and old. First up for me was a reasonable Redthroat but Rory had hooked into something bigger and didn't realise it till I told him to set the drag harder so up comes a nice Dhuie. Rods down again Dhuie for me and Rory's into a Sambo (which he wanted to keep So Laksa soup coming up). We fished the spot for an hour and ended up with Pinkies, Dhuies, Redthroat and Baldies all released very well. Left it on the boil as they say. That was probably our last fish up here for the year as the beach will get washed away from the ramp soon. I will put up a video of our ramp set up soon so you can see what I mean.Happy boy.The bag.
Here's the link for the tramp vid. Rory is filming from the boat. The blue strap on the ground is the hook and cable. Winch house at the top of the ramp. So basically beach the boat and winch out of the water, back car up ramp, winch boat to base of ramp and drive trailer under boat 'voila' all done!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2idjLrRreo&feature=youtu.be

The dive boys have just got
The dive boys have just got back in with a 14kg Dhuie and two Baldies one being the biggest I have ever seen I reckon an easy 800mm long. Just shows you what's hiding in those shallow reefy rocks.
