Albany landbased mako

Albany landbased mako

Mate of mine Glenn being a mad barstard and landed this mako off the rocks yesterday on a whole bonito, short fight on heavy gear but lots of jumps and one agro very fired up little guy. LBG down here is just awesome!!! and today another mate landed 2 huge pinkys not far from this spot on live herring as well.

fair few guys have got them, i see 2-3 a year and hear a lot more stories of them getting hooked, land based thresher was landed a few months back and that was a lot more of a rare catch and was a very large one as well.

no way i know of at least 20-30 along the south coast. fairly often they get hooked off the deep ledges or beaches with very deep water behind them.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Thats just mad.

Chris does he tie off, or just use big you know what to fish there. Might just be a belt buckle but looks like a carabiner he has attached to his waist?
