Not often Colin but I want to try it more. I think the best time to pop in the evening is with a full moon. Unfortunately on this trip we had a new moon, as soon as the light dissapeared the bite shit down. You can see in this pic it's just on dusk.
Only one thing I don't like about this pic is your arm and that treble, one squirm of that fish and things could come unstuck pretty easily, resulting in you having a treble stuck and big gt flapping around on the deck with you still connected... Saw so many people last year when doing creel surveys coming back in with trebles hanging outa all sorts of places. No biggie, just a bit of a word of warning, bloody nice fish thou!!
Never had one kick or squirm when we've brought it aboard... GTs are really quite docile out of the water. Worst case scenario though, they are barbless trebles!
Jay your on fire with those GT's looks like you and Brad are sorting them out at the mom. Are you guys just delaying the barra onslaught!! Loved the photo of the popper in action. getting more creative Jay good work!! Looks like ya got good grip on those fish but even with barbless wouldnt really enjoy 15 to 20kg+ pulling down on my arm.
Dont rub it in Brad, i get enough from the boys in hedland destroying the barra early in the season. Im in bloody london freezing my nuts off. waiting for my plane in the next couple of days to head home to the heat. Dont let that other gallash come and poach any of those karratha fish.
hows the boat travelling. went to velosity not that long ago and priced your rig up with the etec. round the 40-42 mark i think with various accessorising!!
My first thought was exactly what Adam said.... Ive had big buggers have a few kicks around once theyre in... Barbless or not... Two of those bad boys in ya arm and I reckon I'd hear ya yip from here!!! Yeh totally agree though... Nice GT Jay.
