Hey guys, just thought I'd chuck up a photo of the Hooter Baldy I caught out from Cape Nat on Aussie Day. Cheers Lamby for taking us out.

Your telling me
Been fishing down this way for about 12yrs and have never caught one myself, seen a few pics of others like Harro's though. Maybe a strong Leeuwin current is a factor?

La Niña
A big La Niña is associated with a good leeuwin current and, if you go back to that map of cyclones, lots of cyclones getting a long way South.

Yeah, i had
a good start getting a small @5kg Dhuie first drop, then a nice Queenie next drift. Then this baldy came out of nowhere a short time later. Was pretty hard going after that though we did pickup a nice Blackbum to round out the bag.

Matt, we used to see heaps of them diving in geographe bay. From tiny little ones to 8 or 9 kilo thumpers so I reckon they breeding down there.
Shot a couple at augusta and hamelin too over the years.
Didnt see as many on the west coast but in the bay they are plentiful. . .

Nice one Matt. The one and
Nice one Matt. The one and only thing I miss about fishing Two Rocks is the Baldies. Use to get heaps there but haven't got one down here yet. I think they are the best eating fish around.
What boat did you end up with Lamby?

7m Trophy Walkaround, really
7m Trophy Walkaround, really impressed with the features & only have a few tweeks to do. Did have some trouble on the quindalup ramp with not enough water underneath me to float her off so we ended up at Abbey which was much easier.

Very happy mate, the new
Very happy mate, the new sounder & plotter set up works well. The lowrance tucked nicely into the dash with the furuno on top & out the way on travel. Tried phucking around with the trim tabs en route mate big mistake, I was flinging the boys around on some calm water. Fishing wise loved it mate, 3 of us drifted along comfortably stuck to me usual spot.
Matt took line honours hitting up quality fish very quickly on some fresh bait we picked up heading out, we got out a bit too late however despite an early start with a few dramas at the ramp. Dhuie, Queenie, Baldie & BA come up with the first few drifts then not a cracker after with the some showings on the sounder but no interest.
Saturday mate, with bells on & be good to see you & Johnny. No doubt Tiiimbo will be in usual fine form!!
