Hope it's not, my neighbour
Hope it's not, my neighbour just got back from Bali with a temporary "henna" one , it has become infected and has come up in a huge mess of blisters. After being to the doctor here and being prescribed creams and antibiotics, he has been told that it will more than likely end up in a permanent scar. NASTY!!

100% real
The fake ones end up being more painfull!!!
Depends where you get them in bali but some places use stuff that can burn you. Mine is real.

Good looking tat, I have
Good looking tat, I have only the one but I must say Bali, with it's humidity and so forth would be the last place I'd get one. By the looks of yours it is still fairly recent?? Looks the goods and be thankful it's not henna.
I will try to post a pic of my neighbours tat, it is nasty, once healed he is going to get a proper tat over it to hide the scarring.

I researched the place i got it before i went ahead with it. I have seen friends tattoos that were done at the same place and it has a good rep. There are plenty of dodgy places ova there but the place i got mine is very clean and are very good artists. I saved $300 to $00 dollars having it down while i was there on holiday earlier on in the year.

What did it cost you??
What did it cost you?? Something like that over here would be at least $700 -$800. My last apprentice got one done in Bali and had no dramas, I think like you have done, is get it on your last day so you can get home and look after it properly.

At risk of
At risk of sounding like an expert (which I aint) here is what I understand of the temporary "henna" tattoos. 'Pure' henna tatoos are fine but the temporary ones that are popular seem to contain another chemical (P-Phenylenedaimine) which can cause an allergic type reaction which burns the skin causing blisters and ultimatley permanent scarring. Have seen a few in that state and they look pretty nasty.
I'm setting a new trend. Cleanskin. Not too many of us left these days !!

Spot on
Your right. that chemical does the burning job! It can be really bad if kids get it done. A couple of friends kids got them in the Kartika plaza shopping centre in kuta and they were both fine. Steve it cost me $200, so a big saving!

The irony of the whole
The irony of the whole matter is that his kids also got them done, but they had no reaction to them whatsoever!! He in fact, only had a reaction two days ago, after already having it on for a week or so!! Go figure!!
$200 is a BARGAIN!!!

Hey Timbo, I'm 39 and only
Hey Timbo, I'm 39 and only got my first a year ago. It does seem as though everybody, male and female has got a tat nowadays!! I was in IGA today and there was a "youngish" chick in there who was literally covered in them!! BAD LOOK!!! I'm up for some more, but my boat will have to stop costing me money in order for me to afford them!!!

Temp Tatts
As timmbo said it contains PPD. This is commenly found in Hair dyes and in tyres. Once you become allergic to the tat you are allergic to the substance, and cant work with anything that has it in it. It causes a severe nasty local inflammation, leaves a permanent scar and is not flash. It needs potent steroid creams for a long time to settle it.

I go to a place called Kas-tattoo life. They are situated down from the Kartika plaza shopping centre. The address is Kartika plaza street number 21. Second floor of ruko BNI bank Kuta Bali. Website www.kas-tattoolife.com You would prob get it cheaper than 1500 too.
