this happened at st.kilda on sat as this guy had 2 much to drink and from what i heard also no licence

Auto pilot?
Wonder if he was on auto pilot and not paying attention. Been a few over recent years, one that comes to mind was a crayboat hitting the end of one of the groynes at Port Geographe near Busso. Hit the very end, another 10 metres to port and he would have gone right in to the marina, all asleep after a big day on the whites
