People should think about it a bit more when they catch fish like this I doubt it will get eaten as it's too big Probably end up on a dump somewhere. It's a shame just for a few photos and to try and look good to their mates.
To all the virgins..............Thanks for nothing!
I reckon your spot on Fishy, the adrenaline is pumping when they get the thing into shore, but after it dies and they get the shark onto a trailer the reality sets in and the next question is "what do we do with this f#$%ing thing now"
I was in the same team as my mate Terry hessey when he caught this shark in the river. That picture you see of the guy taking a picture of the shark in the trailer is me! I assure you that we do not intentionally kill these animals but sometimes fatalities occur. We were using significient sized gear to catch such a great animal! This is certaintly a once in a lifetime catch!! we DO NOT intentionally kill these sharks!!! we do as much as possible to keep them allive. We care as much for these animals as much as everyone else! We dont parade our catches nor do we boast about them. I do acknowledge that this is a intriguing catch and it looks impressive but we arent to be portrayed as shark killers but rather fisherman who had a good catch!
Milsey, there was another picture among the batch I got that showed the fisherman hith some heavy stand up game gear (80lb or 130lb Tiagra maybe). I reckon that they only had sharks in mind while fishing. I dont think there are marlin in the Brisbane river. I suppose a big cod may have also been a target
that is not a fish it is something that pulls limbs off and if you know there past record you would appreciate that best place for it 6x4 kids grow up better wiht all limbs
Hahaha SteveF i can just imagine Head first, in freeway traffic with window down with your elbow resting on the door looking casual. I woudl def have a video camera doing that mate ha
