Check out the teeth on it

All of the bream in the Moore had little needle like teeth for chomping the baitfish, as opposed to the ones in the Swan were they are ground down from chewing on mussels

Interesting Observation....lures

That's an interesting observation BT (bream taker? LOL). Did HBs dow all the damage, or did you use softies as well? Any stand outs?

Colin 2 , i tried plenty of softies and assorted HBs, but the only one that pulled fish was the sx40 in colour 305.

SX40's come standard with owners, so normally they don't need replacing, but the hooks on this one were a little rusty, so i changed them to owners that morning.

You should try it mate, perfect water to get you into it, just have a look at all the young guys down your way pulling 40+cm bream nearly every week.

Yup I now

The young guns down here kill the pig every week - I need a decent brim outfit.

Did go once - we used fresh Koonacs from the dam on our (previous) property - they got WOLFED!

Just give it a shot, see if you like it and then decide on whether to get a bream outfit or not, don't have to spend big bucks to get a quality outfit these days.

Gear

True....I have a lil Okuma Quadra 30, as far as reels go, that would be (just) adequate - but the rods embarrising - a 'mighty' javis walker 3-5 ultra power. Used that rod before - hard to control any decent bream with it.

Thats very interesting blake

Mon, 2008-06-09 10:07

Thats very interesting blake on the colour sx40. The very few times ive fished there for bream ive noticed that only golds and oranges have worked. Maybe its a coinsudent but im not sure. I tryed bass minnows in watermelon which work on any bream and they wouldnt take them not even a follow.

Then changed to a pumkin colour and was getting smoked every cast. Do u find the same or was it just the days i was there.

Keep it tight, reeeeeeel tight!

I found the same thing

Mon, 2008-06-09 13:02

I found the same thing spess, pearl watermelon is usually a very good colour for me (never tried it on the moore) but couldn't even buy a follow on one of them, but i was talking to brenz and he was saying how he killed the pig on pearl watermelon in the moore, so i'm not too sure?

I didn't try the pumpkinseed colour (i should of because i had some in my bag) but i tried lots of other softies and they wouln't work. All my fish were on that sx40 but i got one little rat on a scorpion 35 in the orange gold colour.
