I was going to ask if anybody knew much about fishing around Isralite Bay. I'm guessing Cocklediddy is only a couple/few hours further away.

Jakeu420 can you give me an idea on how to get there? do you have to go Nullarbor then cut back to the coast?

Any idea of distance etc?

Cocklebiddy would be be a good 250 km away from israelite bay . Ok if you are coming from norsman on eyre hwy you will get your first road house balledonia 198 km from norsman then you will drive 90 mile straight = 146 km to caiguna then cocklebiddy road house 78km past caiguna. Then you drive behind road house and you will see 3 dirt roads pick the middle road then follow that for 40 km , 4wd highly needed most past , tyres on to about 14 psi

Any idea where the guys launch from down there? Seen some suprisingly big glass rigs towed down there.

the abalone divers launch

Mon, 2010-11-08 19:34

the abalone divers launch all along there Dodgy, the beaches generally have shallow, firm gradients (in sections) and these boys know their stuff, and don't mind getting their cars wet. I know Red Rocks is pretty popular, not sure on the exact spot to launch though.

Boat launch

Mon, 2010-11-08 20:58

U can put the dingys in pretty much anywhere along the beach 1 end is the cliffs 1 end is all reef , but the hard part would be getting the boat down escarpment and up!!

Red rocks point you launch from the the bay wich is pretty easy and theres a few moorings u anchor on while on your trip exelent beach fish to the left of red rocks theres a gutter in front of the reef!!!!

To drive that far in you must have some rewards

Tue, 2010-11-09 10:09

at the end of the road. Bloody nice pinks from the beach. Probably the case down there with little fishing pressure.
