3 blokes, I will post up a few pics of them getting slabbed when I do my trip report tomoz. Cactus from travel at the moment and back to work tomorrow. :(
yep, those were the days. Spent many a session out at shark island in my days living in sydney. Loved it, probably couldnt resist a baz like that if i was in the area
mate i have some photos from the 2001 challenge, HUGE is an understatement. It was bloody insane. Ill try scan some photos (non digi days) and put them up.
Another great wave similar to the island is on on phillip island called express point, cold kelp filled barrels and great whites. Whats not to love
Sat and watched EPs going off many years ago. Too sick for me there.
Closest I got to Shark Island was probably Stanwell Tops, nice break with a killer view looking back up the hill. Maybe Bulli too, is that somewhere around there? Too long ago.
i have a lot of photos of 2001, i remember watching eppo charge the biggest slab ever in a free surfing session, the old man mike stewart was going as hard as anyone as well
yewwwwwwww. looks like short ride but a bloody good one. big version of penguin island maybe haha. Maybe i should get back onto the lid, but perth suckss.

Haven't ridden a lid
for a few years now! Brings back memories......
I liked Shark Isalnd but very heavily populated - only rode there a few times. The "locals" were not the sharing type generally.
But for me, The Box down in Margs is perfection and there are a few secret spots further south that my mate and I used to hit up.
I still have my Mike Stewart 7-7 somewhere in the house.
