One way to save

Fri, 2010-08-13 16:00

One way to save petrol!!!!!!!

Just a note..... Next time you have to tow someone get them to hook the rope on the bow hook (Where the winch rope gets connected).

Lifts the front of the boat up and less stress on the tow-boat.

normally do

We would normally have done so but he was only 1.5km from the marina so we did it the lazy way, not that my tinny would have been able to lift up the bow on his boat anyway. lol.

You'd probably be surprised Adam,

I learnt the hard way when towing a 22' ali with our old 15' glass runabout. Started off with the rope hooked on the bollard then remembered reading about the bow hook.

Changed it over and the old 60HP Merc on the runabout got the 22 footer up on the plane!!! Surprised

I think his internet is still on the bung a bit too as I haven't seen him on recently, might be a good opportunity to sneak this one through on him.

He is probably getting a sneaky look on by using his aunty and uncle's lap top. He would be having withdrawals otherwise.

No other pics that I know of, mind you, I could have been done a few weekends back after having to get towed in.  :(  Think I've been there for both of Jeff's tow in's, the first one was after towing the tyre wizard in to Bundegi (before ramp) we only made it half way back to the marina before having to get a mate to tow us the rest of the way.  Ahh well, always good to know someone's there to get ya if you do get stuck.
