vac packed

Sun, 2008-05-11 22:14

not sure if fish is the same but with beef, lamb or pork meat is better if vac packed and left in "fridge" not freezer for approx 4-6 weeks. you can put in freezer if you want but not neccasary.. can even be for up to 3 months but 4-6 weeks is best. it actually tenderizes it... thats with meat so like i said not sure with fish...

just a helpfull little hint for those that care

i have a vac pac machine

Sun, 2008-05-11 22:25

i have a vac pac machine swear by it best $$ i ever spend.I vac pack my ocy and squid for bait then freeze it when it comes out even 8 months laster still looks like it was frozen yesterday same with fish. The cost of the machine is pretty good around $200 but the killer is the bags mine is a sunbeem and by looking at Adams bags i would say it is the same as his. It's cheaper to by the bags in a roll and cut them to the size you want.

freezer

Put the bags in the freezer for half an hour before vac packing, stops the liquid from going through the machine.
