With all the product placement, you'll be a full blown fly aficionado before you know it. I thought Columbia shirts were the height of fishing fashion, times are a changing.
Well done Braddles. I know we spoke about it when you where here in Kcity and we never got to do it. Isnt it an awesome feeling and who cares about the size. Mine was a herring and I felt like it was a 20k Dhu.
Congrats buddy but please dont let that bug get you. I am trying my heart out to NOT take the 10wt out.
Neels
PS What weight is that Rod and the reel certainly make mine look small. 4wt, 6 wt, 8wt and 10wt. The 12wt have no reel (yet) but sailies watch out when I fork out the bigger $$$ on a very decent SW 12wt reel.
fly fishing is another league of difficulty and satisfaction having caught something! My first was herring like Neels, then graduated to rainbow/brown trout (there's a challenge!), salmon, kingfish and so on. I
d target queenies up round your way, they would be a buzz on fly.
And get yourself a few popper flies and I have no doubt you'll nail a barra at night on one - that would be a memorable catch, despite the umpteen hundreds you have already caught. Then chase a GT, but be prepared to palm that reel like a demon! LOL
A Qfish on fly would be balastic, if I ever get the chance and hook one, prob would love it on the 8wt.
A Barra would just blow the world away for me on fly. Despite almost being a local (I tripped and fell in a gully monster but no injuries) yet to hit the creeks!!!
great photo!, good way to start the account, my first fish on fly was probably a garfish from the spoil bank, wont be long till we see some barra on fly from you?
haha nice fish bro, soon you will be tying your own flys as well. my first was a blue bone. even small fish go hard on the fly rod, especialy my new five weight.

OK smart ass
slightly cooler evenings - you know when it drops to an artic 28C and you reach for a wool knit to ease the chill?
If catching fish on fly is awesome, triple it if you use a fly you have tied.
