First GT

Tough day but managed to get my first gt. Caught him on a Smiths stickbait, estimated around 20kgs. Had a few mackies side swipe my lure but no hook up. Got busted off by one much bigger few casts earlier. Eddy is a great guide , worked hard to put us on the fish, the swell was huge around the reef so made the fight a lot tougher. Looking forward to going up again next year hopefully get a bigger one.

Hi bud,Guessing you were fishing with Eddie with Peak.Real character and knows his stuff.Great fish mate.We were fishing with him last year in May.I think the smith stickbait you were using was probably the baby rumboh, awesome lure and everything eats them that's for sure. They were the go to lure when we were there, cheers mate.

Yep that's the lure, hit it a few times before hooking up. I don't think I have ever experienced so much pain in my back lol, they go so hard.

Great stuff
GT popping is very addictive, that's one expensive fish.
