Forgot the sounder

Forgot the sounder

Was halfway across the sound on the way to catch some squid for fresh bait when I noticed quite a few birds hovering around. Went to check the water temp on the sounder wondering if it could be mackerel underneath *SH!T* where's the sounder?!

After bagging 15 squid headed out to the 40s. With no sounder the aim of the game was to just do long drifts over the marks on the gps, and with every decent bite or fish hooked I put a new mark and after not too long had a rough idea where most of the decent fish were holding.

We fished small baits on small hooks and did quite well, the dhuie went 82cm and was a great fight on 15lb braid. Was back at Woodies by 11.30

I'm pretty sure you're the sort of guy that could pull a fish out of a bathtub. Next time try no plotter or sounder!.
