Fortescue

Tried to launch out of fortescue yesterday, but my attempt was foiled. Inland rains caused the river to run, again! Damn. To say I was annoyed would be an understatement. To get to the ramp you need to cross this creek.

Whats the largest vessel you can comfortably launch there Jay? Have you got any pics of the launching area itself?

Yea John, as Glenn mentioned you can launch most sized boats there easily. You wouldn't have any dramas with your boat. I think Brad might have some pics of the launch area.

Cheers Brad. Love the cloud formation above the boat in the second pic.

Looks like a reasonable launching setup there with hard stones underneath. Be interesting to see if the floods have washed any of them away.

How far is the ramp from the GT Northern Highway?

It'd be roughly a half an hour drive in. Think it's around 30km.

Drove back from Perth yesterday and there's still a decent flow down the fortescue, thou the level has dropped down a fair bit.
