though i would get a new float line sorted, pretty keen to spear something BIG next time, now i have another 16 meters of rope to hopefully stop me drowning , again....

Congratulations on the new baby girl mate, job well done. Don't wish to be you in 15yrs time with 3 teenage girls on your hands.
Next time we get a chance, we'll put your float to the test and head to Kendrew and try for a mackerel or 2. The water is still pretty clean too.
