G'day guys,
We went over to Hamilton island in QLD and got a days fishing in, had a good day with some redthroat and a good plate size coral trout. We fished just of the airport runway in about five metre's of water. We had to lock up the drag beacause the was some rough ground under us and boy did they go hard in shallow water, we got busted up twice by fish.

Spot is full of earth moving gear
That spot was given to us by a south african dude who lives there, its where they dumped all the dozers and stuff that built the runway very snaggy.

I am heading over to HI next April taking my other half with me. Did you take you own gear or can you hire it with the boat? I am also looking to go out on Renegade Charters for a days game fishing, did you get out with them? Also what accomadation did you stay at, a lot of options available to us
thanks

Took my own gear
G'day Mark,
You can hire gear from the island dinghy hire, not very good quality as you could imagine, We hired a dinghy a net and esky. I got my gear over there by aussie air express bit costly though pack a small tackle kit in with my shirts and stuff. We stayed in the bungalows at $300 a night was pretty good nice and roomy. Take some light gear too there's heaps of options I only got one day to fish I could have fished every day!

The wife and I went over there last year...
Hired a 40 foot flybridge cruiser for 8 nights for about 500 a night, well worth doing, you can pull up on a mooring at most islands and your allowed to use all their facilities for the day.
Worth a look for sure.
Goooooone Fishin!
