Landbased spangled
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Wed, 2008-06-11 15:46
Got bored so I went for a quick landbased spango mission. Managed to get this one with a double hookup on my other rod which almost got taken into the drink whilst I fought this one. My good camera's batteries were dead so had to take it on the vid cam. They pull some serious string alright!

Good to see you have re-joined the rock hoppers Adam
That's a great fish from the rocks. Was that near Exmouth? I wonder what was on your other line? That can be the one problem with fishing with two rods - you can almost guarantee they will both go off at the same time.

Yep
He will be my dinner tonight for sure, almost released him as he gave me that look for a second, then gave one too many kicks so he got the knife. The other one was definately a spangled, no doubting it as they both must have swum through the channel I was fishing in.
Yep Colin, it was on the west side, a spot I've known about for a long time that has always produced. If the swell was a bit lower I reckon it would have been on big time. First time I've been landbased in ages, certainly got the blood running for 5 minutes thats for sure!

Good fish Adam, they do go hard for sure and a L/B fish is a nice change always!
