Lanno Report
Headed up to Lancelin for the long weekend. Got the pots out on Saturday and pulled donuts on Sunday. Looking the best of the 3 days, I headed out to try my usual sopts. First spot first drop and I pull up a nice sized flathead. After that a frew BB that I released and decided to move on to my dhu spot. Mannaged few few under and just sized dhuies and baldies but the day was still early so I decided to return them and move on.
Heading to a good pinky spot I found a few weeks ago in the 80's I passed over a nice lump and was full of fish. I marked it passing through and thought I would return on the way back if my other spot failed to produce. Amazing how things can change in a few weeks, from good fish every drop to a few undersize pinkies in an hour or so I though I would go back to the sopt I marked on the way out.
As I was only moving from 80 - 60 meters, I though I would take it easy and troll a little. Managed to pickup a small stripped tuna on the way through. First drop at the location produced double header dhu's. After that I was pretty much bringing up double header dhuies or pinkies on every drop. I could not believe how many fish were on this lump, it was pretty much on within seconds and two at a time. They were not massive fish but there were plenty of them.
Not sure how but between the dhuies and pinkies, I managed a north west blowie. I upgraded to some larger hooks and through on some larger peices of occy only to be busted off by some heavy fish.
Headed back in on the troll to produce another SBT of about 5kg.
Next day resulted in 0 crays again, I think this time off the year you pretty much need to be on top of the reef to get any.

Hey Chris, yeah been getting a few on this season and they are very nice Sashimi style. Have been surprised how easy they have been to catch. Usually been on in 5 or so minutes.
