Yes is a sounder/plotter. Its not just there for show. I'll explain in a report I'm doing about the boat. Never thought I would use it much but its great when drifting as we fish with 2 people, one on each side of the bait board with the sea anchor out the back. The picture was all about the view of the harbour but I guess next time I'll make sure the sounder is turned off haha.
