Ouch, if a new rod take it back, had my Asus replaced by the boys at Bluewater. Didn't high stick it just locked it up and bang.

Thanks Bluewater, have since bought two more Asus, great rods

Yeah, not happy at all.  Probably about one year old and for the price I would have expected better.

Got it from Oceanside on their recommendation so perhaps see that they say.

at Oceanside are a top team, can't see why they wouldn't look after you.

Well, it's older than 12 months (18) so besides doing a new rod at a good price, thta is all Oceanside could offer.

I think I will try an Asus from Bluewater for my replacement, thanks for the recomendation abeldog.  BTW, was your rod older than 12 months that got replaced?

Lemax replaced - Updated Post

Mon, 2012-02-27 20:29

Just an update to this post.

I was told by Oceanside that the rod can't be replaced but they could sell me another rod at a great price

I happened to try Carrington Tackle, they got my Lemax replaced FOC even know they never sold it to me  (well done guys, top service)

I'm told no one from Oceanside even bothered to contact Lemax to ask the question

I had replaced the rod with a AZUSA from Bluewater that also snapped (on 3rd use), this time was a 25KG Sambo but at least it's getting replaced under warranty

the moral of the storey is don't trust everyone, even know they are a sponcer of this site.

Can't comment on either of those rods but it might suggest you are a fan of a high sticking technique for sambo's?

Apparntly the AZUSA was a fault and 3rd one to go like that.

The other rod lasted over 12 months so not sure about high sticking.

Hmmmm Maybe Ryan will have sometihng to say

Mon, 2012-02-27 21:23

Ben is here also as a Lemax man. My experience at Oceanside has been good so let's not sound off at a sponsor before we check things out. Sometimes we can get a bit carried away after losing a prize tool.

I beleive that Oceanside no longer has anything to do with Lemax, but I'm sure Benno will fill us in on the details...

Yes mate. I am sure he will

Two things here... What relationship Ryan has with Lemax is his business. I bought my Lemax from him and would expect him to look after any after sales service. Ben will be the first person to take on an issue with the brand. It's a matter of people knowing who is who here and understanding why this site is so good in he sense that problems can be sorted with a bit of patience and a cool head.

I was never referred back to

Tue, 2012-02-28 07:49

I was never referred back to anyone.  Was just told that they are not a good product and are over priced and that's why they do not sell them anymore.

A simple "here call this guy" as we no longer sell them would have been a good start.

I was told there was no way it would be covered and best thing was to buy a new rod.

Just really trying to let everyone know what happened and what service I got from each of the stores I dealt with.  After all that's also what this site is about.
