Look out Brad and Jay..im onto the TREVS now!

Well finally a day...sorry morning, of light winds. Took a new guy to the island out for a fish. Had an average day with a few saddletail and some nice sized trickie snapper. Was alot of sharks around today, and we also lost alot of lead to the mackies. I was fishing the bottom with my old Tekota, and 30lb braid when something quite large, took a liking to my bait. First of all i called it for a shark, but then the head shakes were coming..and the long powerful runs. I still didnt have a clue what i had on my line, until we got him to the surface. Mind you it took me an easy 15mins to get him up. I have never tackled a fish that takes so long to wear out, and now i know why some people call them G-Trains. Time to rest up the arms now...have nightshift to rock up for!

Glad to see that you've found a new spot while I'm down in Perth!  Very jealous I didn't get to go out fishing with you this morning!  Here's hoping there's plenty more of those G-Trains where they came from!

Coz he's a great skipper!

Sun, 2010-08-08 11:43

Coz he's a great skipper!  Takes me to the tried and tested spots to let me catch fish and keep me happy (happy wife = happy life), takes new people out and keeps them far away from our spots so they don't steal them and finds new spots at the same time. You little ripper!

That is a ripper. Better than the Scarborough squid and whiting mate.

Crackin fish mate,

Sun, 2010-08-08 14:00

Crackin fish mate, definitely a fish on my "to catch" list. Just looking at them you can see they would have alot of power big deep body to hold against the current!
