Cool photo mate, do you know what it was? Looks like a mini sail but at that age who knows.

Nah I don't mate, the whole idea was to determine wether it was a sailfish, blue black or striped marlin, broadbill, short bill spear fish, as they didn't know which was which. Julian Pepperel was the bloke, I got him one this time and 3 another time.  Didn't hear back at all.

And I don't want to get to

And I don't want to get to far ahead of myself here, but for those couple of people that will figure out that these are infact billfish that have been landed on a commercial boat ,which of course is a no no , the fisheries were told, and were more than happy to have someone interested . And there was mention that it would be impossible to know the species , and it could be a broadbill. (Which we can land one of )

definitely not a broadbill,

definitely not a broadbill, they have a shark type dorsal and no sail of any kind.

Easiest way to recognise one is that the bill is flat like a sword not roundish, designed for flaying side to side to stun squid etc

 His response....

It's a sail because of the rounded dorsal and yellow pectorals.
