we could see like big schools of gardies coming up to my bait some were biting but they are hard to hook ).
Very small size 8 octopus hooks are the go! Very small and very sharp. Long shanks also work alright.

Those gulp maggots in the jar work well for gardies and herring for $8 u get a few trips out of them

i was using no sinker i was using kangaroo meat mixed in polard my nana uses it i went out fishing with her lol it work hell good for herring aswell i shud have used the tinyest bit smaller hook tho).
