Nice mate. You won't even
Nice mate. You won't even know the boats hooked on with that beast.
Pitty its not a dual cab, we could of used it to tow the boat to Exy next year. Then again I could always fly up while you guys tow the boat.

i hooked her up to the boat this arvo and she glides along .. only need to find out if i can tow with the overdrive engaged (probably not) if i can the fuel should be very cheap .. but im guessing the gearbox aint strong enough for that

hey there Buz . . long time
hey there Buz . . long time no chat :)
cost me $42k .. it was this or a v8 diesel cruiser (about 50k) and seeing this has more torgue and still good on fuel i chose this
it might not be the best 4X4 due to her 3 ton weight but i dont beach fish much anymore so thats ok .. and the weight aids my towing and braking, its a lot better than my 4.2 tubro nissan .. and a lot safer ..
all in all bloody happy and i hope it lasts me a lonnng time

Yeah been busy away from
Yeah been busy away from Perth for quiet a while. Got a month back then off again for a month. Will get a trip up to Horrocks for a week though in that month off :)
I reckon for onroad towing ability and safety that thing would shit all over a Landcruiser. Man $42000.00 is a good price. You get it privatly or dealer? How many clicks she done and what year? Yeah might be interesting taking it somewhere like Boranup beach, but hey now you can easily tow your baot anywhere who needs to beach fish!!! :)
So new donk for the boat, new trailer, new towing rig........ man you win Lotto or something!!!!!!!
Nah good stuff mate, very envious, wish i could afford a towing beast like that. And man its a FORD F- Truck, that thing will probably still be pumping mega iron in 50 years!

she's on 01 model with 150k
she's on 01 model with 150k on the clocks
as for getting one from the USA .. the upfront cost is cheap but .. (and its a bit but) to convert was about 30k (fark that)
thats not including any taxes and transport ..
wish i had won lotto ... need a job up north to pay for all this gear now :)

Man it sucks how much we have
Man it sucks how much we have to pay for cars like that here in Oz. Something like that brand new in the states wouldnt even be $50000. Seen heaps of them in crew cabs second hand for $25000 when i was over there in April. And these were 2008+ 4x4 ones too!!!!!
I wonder what the costs of shipping, conversion, compliance and licencing would amount too????? To bring one over yourself. Surely not the $100000.00++ you see most people trying to sell them for over here.
Oh well guess i'll have to settle for a poxy little 3.0L Turbo 4cyl. :(

Buz we looked
at getting the F250 7litre turbo Deisel (cummins), googled it and found a couple of sites in the Eastern states, all wanted $122,000 before getting it over here, didn't enquire how much insurance and price to get it to WA. So we settled for a 3litre turbo deisel Toyota Prado 4x4 and that pulls the boat good, plus beach fishing all up with bull bar, tow hitch, sidesteps, spotties, dribble battery (for engel as the plug, in prado runs it automatically while car is running, needed second battery for overnight) $73,000. Its funny how insurance companies insure your car with extras but don't insure the labour you have spent to put the bling on your 4x4.
