Can you enlighten me on what makes an EGI rod or reel exactly that ?
not to be a smart ass or anything, i do like to have nice "for purpose " gear myself, just would like to know the main differences from other light gear?
the rod is the more import bit. it has a stiff tip so that you can work the jigs well then when you hook up it bends all the way down the blank to reduce the pulled hooks. the reel has a shallow spool and 3kg max drag i think to it just makes it more fun to use and when u hook a squid there is less chance of pulled hooks.

mate love it so much. i didnt expect a squid to pull drag but it did and it was fun. a pleasure to use. cheers for advice and it was a great buy.
