Nasty Growth

Diving near Dyer Island, Rotto, in 18 metres.
3750 grams; 183mm Carapace. Probably in the 30+ age group.
I have caught a few over the years this big, but have never kept one. The big ones are quite a challenge to catch...as they sometimes charge you. This one was especially challenging to catch as there was a fair amount of bottom surge.

Nice Nice, not a bad guess either re the weight and a quality cray mate....especially up against a tall person!

Longest leg (2nd down) - 520mm
o/all length (between horns to end of tail) - 475mm.
Carapace width -130mm

That was a big cray, i held it up to my step bro on his cray boat and even he said wow that's a bigger F@#%er!
I cut up the meat into small pieces as mentioned, marinade in say a satay sauce or what ever you like..........quick cook on the BBQ hotplate......mmhhhh nice
