pb baldie
Went out last wednesday, in no rush just glad to be on the water, launched about 8ish got back to the marina around 12 30. My main objective for the day was finding new ground. First drop gave me hope with a few little bites, did another drift over the same bit of flat coral and hooked the baldie, it was 59 cm's don't know the weight (my scales are a bit to rust to read).
Happy with that spot i went for a slow cruise chasing more ground. Lost my drift bait rig to a piece of reef so thought I'd give the gilles ockta jig to see if they where as good as I'd heard. With 3 or 4 drifts done with the jig the temptation to go back to bait was getting greater, I've never had any luck bottom bouncig with jigs. As i was thinking , this is the last drift before i go back to bait hook up to a nice 67cm duhie, using light line he fought all the way to the surface in 40 meters without any bloating, my first duhie on a jig, BRILLIANT.
With enough fish for the family headed home, trying a couple of new spots on the way home with no luck, boat on the trailer and on the way home before 1 00. Happy as a pig in muck Bloody good day.

Good stuff..
59 cm baldie, that's a HOOTER mate! And I'd be stoked with any size dhuie on a jig...well done on a top effort!

Cheers guys. The baldie put up a very good fight as did the duhie both on light line. It was a great day to be on the water, very relaxing just cruising around and catching a good feed makes it even better.

Great effort Nick
Always great spending the time and finding new ground - especially when it produces. As said, that baly is cracker and congrats on the jigged Dhui mate.
