First Guide
Looks like one of the feet on the first guide has pulled out from the bindings also. I would have thought for that foot to have let go it is somewhat inconsistent with a high sticking failure. Perhaps that failure was the result of another event.
Not for one moment doubting that two breaks sounds like a high sticking failure tho.

i had a xzoga break on me caused by twisting blank , i have seen the end result of high sticking and that definately looks like what happened. but as Alan said , could be more into it

Hi everyone
I stood next to him when this happened now this was he's first trip for sambo so I gave him few pointers before he started and one thing I always do is never go past the 90 degree angle with any big fish. This is basic when fighting or jigging never go past that 90 degree infront of you in your action I believe you take away yr rod strenth some may differ
However I showed him how I jig [style etc] and he did very well he's first cast got him a 5kg Amberjack and 3 tries later the sambo. What happened was the sambo took he's jig [ some of you know that sambo can sometime not get hooked straight away and get off after a 30sec run or so], So you carry on jigging. When I explained that to him he was just about to drop the line down again when the hole rod was pulled out of he's hand as the swell of the ocean came up.
Only explination is the drag was full at that point after a short fight during the first run and he grabbed the rod in the end when it snapped off with the tip also.
