These guys have been giving me some grief on the pe3 gear lately so out came the pe6 stuff today. It was far from making short work of them, still got reefed by a couple but finally boated a few too

Tried reviving him for at least 5mins, couldnt get a kick out of him so brough him back in the boat and had the knife about to iki him when he gave a kick, gave him one last chance and he shot out of my hands as soon as he touched the water. His lucky day!
Had a bad experience with one similar size last year that had the parasite, fish porridge on the bbq plate is one hell of a sight!

Came across a school or rat
Came across a school or rat YTK's yesterday demolishing baitfish in 4m around stragglers. For about 40 minutes I chased them around, at one stage they were surfacing within a few metres of the boat and was special to watch. Hard to entice and several lure changes, but managed to get a handful which wee great fun on light tackle. Most were around 600mm but definitely some bigger ones in the school

Great photo!
Wicked colours in that pic. I got one on the weekend and it must have had this parasite you speak of. Found a worm towards the tail, and when cooked it was a weird flavour/smell and went mushy. Total bullshit

Indeed
That's a sobering thought. Ive had one sashimi before, and it went great. there'l be some serious second guessing before the next venture down that road though. She'l be right though I spose

You wouldn't be that blind,
You wouldn't be that blind, like I said earlier is much the same consistency as porridge and tastes really bitter, yes I tried to eat it haha :P
