Tuesday at the rigs, beautiful conditions and iridescent blue water - no fish in 75nm though. All we wanted was one big blue. :(

i'm pretty sure that's the Nan Hai VI. Stybarrow is a FPSO and is the furtherest one out, operated by BHP from memory, then you have the Maersk Ngujima-Yin and the Nganhurra closer in. the Nan Hai is doing some infield work for woodside at the moment on the Vincent field

Tks for the info
A google of the three FPSOs tells you that the deepest is in 850m and the shallowest 390m. What's the exclusion zone for recreational craft around these and the other vessels and drill rigs out there?

that's Stybarrow or whatever it's called Sha.
We did 83nm, chucked the lures in at 50m, went out to past 700m, here, there and everywhere but didn't turn a reel.
Hell of a day though.

Here's a pic of where the rigs are, they can easily been seen from the top of the cape. Gotta love the paint text!
I think those car sized buoys out there were a rumor started by the servo up here to increase fuel sales.

hahahahaha nice work tim :)
i used to see heaps of bait schools when flying in the chopper back to land after my month of work on the rigs, often thought if i knew people in exmouth or karratha i could give them a bearing to get amongst them.
