We hit a nice patch of dhuies on Saturday off hillarys, lost a few crackers, ended with 2 kept and numerous released. All on pe2 jig. Bought up very slow and small ones kept at around 10m for a minute or two before dehooking in water, and all released without weight.
Neither fresh sargy lol. Recent trips I have been wirh bait fisherman and they always got the big dhuie first so I decided bait first this time and couple drifts I had my dhuie and used artificials for the rest of the day got blackass harlequin swallows and cuttle on jigs. Bait or jigs dont bother me as long as the fish is on my line and going in my tummy lol.

must admit to having gone back to bait a couple or 3 drops on sat. gets you onto the baldie's a lot easier. and the pinkie came on bait too.
but the dhui's do love the jigs
