where is Pohnpei ? yeh the runners are a pretty looking fish . i first thort ther were yellow tailed kings , but new they never got up that far and also thort that the runners never that big . up and out wide off broom by scott reef have seen em up around the 6 feet long but never hooked one . they must be well up in the weight range then .

5.8kg is the biggest I spotted in a google of Aussie recods. Must be close to that? Almost certainly the biggest caught on a handline off a rig.

That fish would clearly give 5.8kg a shake. It's the biggest I've seen taken in WA if it was in fact caught here, any more details Doopa??

46kg is the record for a rainbow runner over here in Pohnpei. So I'm sure there are some monsters off the WA coast somewhere.

As of June 2009 the state record was 4.760 caught at the Mackerel Islands in 1987, so you wouldn't think it would take much beating??
