Question for the pirates!

Do you boys put down your own moorings?

Do you use a little tender to get to and from shore or do you swim out to them?

John

mooring

Tue, 2007-06-12 11:13

in 3 years of going out to cant tell ya this is the first time we tried using a mooring .mine was a big old ripper boot of a D11 dozer.would of weighed about 45kg i reckon with about 6 metres of chain as well ..the big trailcraft out the back had a similar set up .mind you i still threw out a sand pic every night as well.as i had to do some welding to fix the chain to the boot and couldnt trust my welds ,and yeah john we had a surf ski as a tender.over the 11 days we were there i saw some sizable sharks swiming around the boats on a high tide and wouldnt fancy swimming out especialy once the run of the tide got going
always in it just the depth that varies

Refueling

Tue, 2007-06-12 11:38

Do you boys take all your fuel with you or pop back to onslow mid trip to top up jerry's etc?

Obviously if you take all your own you must not have to travel to far each day to get fish. Or do you take a truck load (figuratively speaking)?
