Yesterdays fishing
At very short notice, I teamed up with forum member Bert, "Glastronomic" for a fish after noticing a post of his wanting a deckie. I had struggled to find a deckie myself, with my usual being interstate working and pretty much exhausting every one else that I knew.
The decision was made to take my boat and go and try to find some fish. We headed for some ground that I had marked last week in the hope that the fish were on the bite. Once arriving it wasn't long before we had a legal dhuie on board, closely followed by a good baldy. Bert then picked up a good breaksea, and a 11kg dhuie. Job done, that was our 4 fish, and it was only 10.15. We half heartedly had a few more drifts with Bert hooking up a 5ft whaler that gave him and his outfit a good workout. After that we decided to pull stumps and head back in on a very flat sea. Good day out.

Many Thanks go to Steve.
The shark was awsome as it was on a mono double hook rig I made in 2001 and kept in a box all that time!
Drag was on almost full tilt (Tyrnos 30, 85LB multicoloured braid and a Penn 17-24KG rod) a serious good fight!
Same rig also pulled in the Dhue fish.
I felt sorry for the Dhuy, looking in his sad big eyes plus his little mate an orange wrass? was also on the hook.
Once filleted expertly by Steve all sentimental thoughts dissapeared hehe!
On our way back in, we encountered the biggest baitfish schools I have ever seen!
A great day with good company/ superb teacher and a bag limit of Cat1 fish filleted by the master himself!

nice one bert great feed there
getting the bottom line final answer from a bunch of blokes that use false names and put smiley faces at the end of paragraphs is not the best place in the world to get the information you seek.

Tiimmbo, I wouldn't have
Tiimmbo, I wouldn't have tried so hard to find a fishing buddy had the forecast not been as good.
After your extended trip to the Abrolhos, I probably would've been a bit more laid back to the idea of metro fishing myself.

I didn't Lloyd, to begin
I didn't Lloyd, to begin with the drift was a bit quick so it was baits and heavy lead, had I of known the fish were going to be so co-operative I would have got the sea anchor out and had a crack. I also was fishing a new area, so I wasn't super confident at getting results. Next time.
