Its going to be absolute ball I think. One of the better comps I've seen raised, top stuff Brenz. Would you need to show weight and size in the picture or just you, the fish and the 2lb line?

All fish should be pictured on a "brag mat" or some other measuring device, promote C&R and forget kilograms.

Longest fish wins regardless of weight, that's how most of these comps work on other forums I've been involved with.

Measure fork length instead of total length, much more accurate as well.  Bugger weight off.

Heres how I reckon fish should be entered.

eg. Murray Cod, 80ish cm

Estimated weight at around 15kg.

A size limit sticker would be an easy one as it has 1cm spacings, and for bream, the difference is in the cms.

I'm guessing that any form of measurement would be fine. I think I'll use a 30cm ruler as I'm not going to get a bream over that for a while, hehe.

Thanks for the comments! Mate, it was absolutely worth it, and yes, I certainly picked (was lucky) with the weather.

Deac had other commitments, so we had to curtail things at 1.00pm, otherwise we would have fished the afternoon as well.

When I posted my original post (straight after Luke's 'catch' post) asking if it was legit, I also sent Luke a PM, precisely for the reasons that Luke mentioned, there was no story etc.

Quite some hours went by before Luke PM'ed me back, saying he was deeply hurt. So I thought...hmmm, is he joking or not. If he wasn't I'd risk offending him - so PM'ed him back saying that there was no offence intended as I know (like most of us in here), we don't mind a joke.

THEN, a couple of really evil dudes, yes you Jody and Lindsay added 'authenticity by their posts.....

...that whole episode will have me laughing for quite a while this afternoon!

A monthly comp is a fantastic idea and I congratulate The Tackle Shop for the inititiative  and support that made this comp possible.

As I said in the other post, I look forward (as we all do) to some very creative posts from contenders in 'Squid August'!
