yeah i reckon! took him out bream fishing on the murchison the next day and kept complaining about how small the fish were and how little they were fighting!! all i had to say was "this is what normal fishing is like"!

haha yeah thats what i thought initially too! apparently cos its still quite a young fish, its fins are not fully developed yet..

but if u check out this latest pic i uploaded u can quite clearly see the yellow near the tail..

Very easily mistaken for a Yellowfin..

But it's not, yellowfin are thicker through the shoulders and when they are young they will have distinct vertical lines down the body..

That tuna is a mature sized northern bluefin...

ive caught an (actual!) YFT about 12kgs or so before from kalbarri a few years back, which is why i was also initially questioning whether it was a YFT or not.

looks like im gonna have to go back up there to catch one again to see for my self :P

Yep, nice fish Jus, but the boys are definately spot on with their identification.  Not quite as good sashimi as yellowfin as they're a bit stringy, still cook up alright though.
